It's the Climb

As you read our post, put Miley Cyrus's song in your head "The Climb" and picture 21 of us climbing this mountain and our team as we come and spend another week at Refuge Ranch! Our journey started Saturday, June 5th at 3:30 am. We met at Shiloh Church and headed to Indianapolis Airport. We finally arrived in Mexico about 12:30 Mexico time, 1:30 our time and headed to the Ranch. When we arrived we had dinner waiting for us. Hamburgers and french fries! Mmmmmm! Nothing like Rosa Ranch cooking! After getting our bellies full I think all of our heads started bobbing from lack of sleep so we headed to the hotel for a good nights sleep! Other than the band playing til 2:00 am and a few honks around 1:30 we all slept very well! Today started with a quick breakfast and fabulous worship that created a few tears! We all celebrated Jacob's 13th birthday & Angie's 17th birthday! Also, mine a day early, and I'm not telling my age! LOL! We then all loaded up in the two vans and Mark & Lucy's truck and headed to ? That means, I am not for sure where we went, but it was a place that had a really nice shopping market and a mountain to climb that would lead us to a small pyramid. 21 of us decided we were man enough to tackle the mountain! Oh what a climb it was! We had 2 groups, the kids who thought they had to go fast and then the slower bunch who brought up the tail. Steve, Tony & I took on the kids group so we had our work cut out for us! I was happy to be the tail so when someone needed to stop and rest I was more than happy to join them! My lungs were burning, I was sweating like a pig and I don't think any of us had deodorant left by the time we got to the top! The view was fabulous and the climb down was much faster! And we Americans read the signs right at the stairs and took the right stairs down! Yes, they were not happy that we went up the descending stairs! Ok, the signs were as plain as the nose on our face, maybe because we were lacking oxygen we missed them, but they were not happy and probably figured out when we got up that go figure, they are American! LOL! I think our journey was about 4 hours top to bottom! We then met up with the shopping group and packed up and headed to a taco place that has the best authentic taco's ever! Our mouth's were on fire and our noses running! A great day was had by all! It is now almost midnight here and we have had a storm roll through so I am ready to get some shut eye! God Bless to all back home and pray for us tomorrow as the work begins! Goodnight! (Johnboy, Maryellen, LOL) I just had to say that!
